Clearance Documentation:
Sure, there are normal standard customs documentation requirements to clear shipments at each imported border point. However, each country has its own additional required documentation based on the mode of shipping:
Documents required by Sea and Land:
- Original Packing List
- Original Commercial Invoice attested by the chamber of commerce at the shipping destination
- Original Certificate of origin attested by chamber of commerce at destination
- When INCOTERM (Delivery agreed on the condition between Shipper and Receiver- (Seller and Buyer) is CIF (Cost Insurance Freight) then Shipper must arrange an insurance copy for Receiver (Buyer).
- Master Bill of Lading (B/L) or Waybill of lading for land transportation, which will be arranged by Freight Forwarder at the destination
- Inspection Certificate before shipping, needed in some countries in South Africa
- SABER Certificates are needed in some other countries like Saudi Arabia; which the Importer will arrange based on the Customs Harmonized Code – Tariff Code (HS Code) mentioned in the commercial invoice.
- Original Vehicle Registration for used Trucks or Buses from Shipper
- Gulf Standardization Organization (GSO) – Technical Regulations for Motor Vehicles copy needed in Arab Gulf Countries
- Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) copy needed in case of Dangerous Cargo moving
